Pre-Season Update
Whilst the railway has been closed over the winter period for maintenance a lot has still been going on. Despite the seemingly bad weather on every work day we have still managed to accomplish quite a lot.
A whole range of maintenance, repairs and improvements were carried out including:
-
Trimming trees and bushes, removing autumn leaves for composting.
-
Improvements were carried out to the Clubs Class 66 loco to renew the Hand Controllers and fit deadmans switches.
-
All brakes on all the carriages have been checked and tested with worn parts replaced.
-
The track gang have checked the entire trackwork and made adjustments where required.
-
The S&T department have been busy checking and lubricating all the pointwork.
-
A new point control box and replacement coal bunker have been built.
-
These are just some of the many projects that have been completed.
Last Thursday we were able to lay the 1st Bricks for the new Signal Box! now as the weather improves we hope to make good progress on this.
We look forward to welcoming you all back when we reopen for Public Rides on Sunday 29th March
