Public train rides will be running this SUNDAY 1st August 2021

  • The trains will be running from 12 mid-day to 4pm      weather permitting.

  • Train rides are £1.00 per passenger, unfortunately we cannot offer concessions at this time.

  • Please have the exact fare ready for your party, as we are unable to give change.

We politely ask that you observe the social distancing markers and signage, and please follow the Station staff’s instructions.

We usually operate rides for the public on Sundays between the beginning of April and the end of October weather permitting    12 mid-day to 4pm.

We know that many of you would love to come down to the Windmill site to support us and have a ride on the trains, but there is another way you can support us without even leaving your home!

If you shop online at Amazon, why not consider using AmazonSmile instead of your regular Amazon home page?

AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support a charity of your choice every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop with AmazonSmile, you just use the same account as your normal, and you’ll find the exact same low prices on both sites. The difference is, by using Amazon Smile, a donation of 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases will be sent directly to the charity of your choice.

To shop at AmazonSmile simply go to on your web browser or activate AmazonSmile on your Amazon Shopping app on your phone (found under ‘settings’ on your app). When you are prompted to add your charity of choice, simply choose “Grimsby and Cleethorpes Model Engineering Society” from the dropdown list, and we will receive the donation from your purchases once the transaction is complete.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and we can’t wait to welcome you back once restrictions are lifted.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your continued support .

About Us
We have around 100 members with interests in all types of model engineering. Our society was formed in 1935 and caters for all aspects of the hobby and is affiliated to the Northern Association of Model Engineers. We have a clubhouse, ground level railway tracks and a roadway for traction engines located at Waltham Windmill in the village of Waltham, 4 miles from the centre of Grimsby.  Meetings take place at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday evening of each month throughout the year in our clubhouse, Hartley Lodge, at the Waltham Windmill site. We usually operate rides for the public on Sundays between the beginning of April and the end of October weather permitting.
