GCMES Covid-19 virus. Update.
Following further easing of restrictions, Society Members will be on site to carry out essential repairs, site maintenance, along with testing of the track, locomotives and rolling stock.
The site will remain closed to members of the public. Unfortunately, the society will not be offering train rides until further easing of restrictions allow.
The situation will be under continual review and we will advise of any changes.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time.
We have around 100 members with interests in all types of model engineering. Our society was formed in 1935 and caters for all aspects of the hobby and is affiliated to the Northern Association of Model Engineers. We have a clubhouse, ground level railway tracks and a roadway for traction engines located at Waltham Windmill in the village of Waltham, 4 miles from the centre of Grimsby. Meetings take place at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday evening of each month throughout the year in our clubhouse, Hartley Lodge, at the Waltham Windmill site. We usually operate rides for the public on Sundays between the beginning of April and the end of October weather permitting.
